Who are the North East Cyber Resilience Centre (NECRC)? The North East Cyber Resilience Centre (NECRC), formerly known as NEBRC, is a police-led organisation supporting sole-trader, micro, small and medium-sized businesses across the seven-force region (Including Humberside). They are part of the national Cyber Resilience Centre (CRC) network, which covers all of England and Wales. Their mission is to help organisations reduce their vulnerability to online fraud and cybercrime through trusted, practical, and accessible support.
They are a free service to businesses, being fully funded by the Home Office, via the NPCC Cybercrime programme.
Who the North East Cyber Resilience Centre (NECRC) support? They are available to work with:
Small and medium enterprises (SMEs)* Sole traders and part-time business owners Organisations of any sector—from hairdressing and high-street retail to manufacturing, charities, and the legal sector *They also offer a free membership to large organisations, but this is primarily aimed at helping their supply chain.
If a business uses technology, the NECRC can support them.
What do the North East Cyber Resilience Centre (NECRC) offer? Free Membership & Ongoing Support - Businesses can join their membership programme to receive regular guidance, alerts, and resources. As part of this free membership, they can access a 1:1 Business Assessment to understand their organisational setup, risks and resilience gaps Funded Technical Services - businesses with fewer than 250 employees or under £20million turnover can also access fully funded technical services including Cyber Awareness Training, Vulnerability Assessments and Policy Reviews
The NECRC currently support approximately 4,000 regional businesses—around 1% of all businesses in our area, but their focus is to increase this and reach as many businesses as possible.
